The WaterWay ("we," "us," or "our") is a water lifestyle social and dating app. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect
- Account information — name, email address, password
- Profile information — age, bio, gender identity, vessel type, home waters, lifestyle preferences, photos
- Usage data — swipes, matches, messages, app activity
- Device information — device type, operating system, push notification token
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To match you with other users based on shared water lifestyle
- To send push notifications for matches and messages
- To improve the app and user experience
- To respond to support requests
4. What We Share
Your profile information (name, age, bio, photos, vessel type) is visible to other logged-in users. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database, and storage services.
5. Photos
Photos you upload are stored securely on Firebase Storage. Your profile photo and water photos are visible to other users of the app.
6. Messages
Dock Chat messages are stored in Firebase Firestore. Only you and your match can read your conversation.
7. Blocking & Reporting
When you block or report a user, that information is stored to protect the community. Reported users may be reviewed and removed.
8. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. Deletion removes your profile and data from our systems.
9. Children's Privacy
The WaterWay is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
10. Your Rights
You may access and update your profile at any time, delete your account from the Profile screen, or contact us to request data deletion at hello@getonwaterway.com.
11. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including Firebase security rules to protect your data.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app.
